Friends of Deep Griha UK
Friends of Deep Griha was set up to support the projects, programmes and activities of Deep Griha Society. The friends comprise of individuals and groups that have supported Deep Griha’s work in the past:- Volunteers
- Visitors
- Donors
- Sponsors
- Partner agencies
- Wellwishers
But Friends of Deep Griha hopes to be more than just an organisation that raises and channels funds to Deep Griha (although that is crucial). It is not - and must not be - just about gift aid.
It is about local communities supporting local communities. Deep Griha recognises that the days of large funding agencies are in decline, and that local communities connecting with local communities will be Deep Griha’s future. Each region is encouraged to adopt a programme or project that they can focus on and be a part of.
The advantage of Friends of Deep Griha is the strength of the connection is real. All ‘friends’ are have either visited and seen (and participated in) the work for themselves, or have heard about the work from someone who has been to Pune.
Transparency and accountability is crucial. The trust and goodwill between Deep Griha and its friends must be reinforced. There is a team in place in Pune to coordinate with the UK, and we hope that the communication difficulties problems of the past will be a memory.
How do I become a Friend of Deep Griha UK?
It costs £5 annually to become a friend of Deep Griha. All Aadhar Kendra sponsors qualify automatically. Also, where possible please participate in the planned events to support the ‘friends’ and thereby Deep Griha.
