Girl Child Programme

The Girl Child Programme provides young girls with as much information as possible to prepare them for under-age marriages.

Although it is illegal for girls under 18 to get married, the practice of child marriage continues. Deep Griha strongly disagrees with this practice, and work with our target communities to change perceptions about the role of young girls. Progress is being made, but it is slow; child marriage is still a major issue.

By holding 2-3 day seminars four times a year, covering topics such as sex education (incorporating family planning), health and hygiene, family relationships, the role of the mother-in-law, drug addiction, internet addiction, yoga, nutrition, mental and physical health, pre- marriage , self defence, personality development, etc. Deep Grihaalso tries to provide these children with knowledge on their rights and the confidence to exercise them. We have held 41 seminars till date with around 1498 participants in our Tadiwala Road, Ramtekdi, and Bibvewadi centres.
