Girl Child Programme

The Girl Child Programme provides young girls with as much information as possible to prepare them from under-age marriages.

Although it is illegal for girls under 18 to be married, the practice of child marriages continues. Deep Griha strongly disagree with this practice, and work with our target communities to change perceptions about the role of young girls. Progress is being made, but it is slow; child marriage is still a major issue.

By holding 2-3 day seminars four times a year, covering topics such as sex education (incorporating family planning), health and hygiene, family relationships and the role of the mother-in-law, Deep Griha can provide these children with knowledge on their rights and the confidence to exercise them.
