women empowermentMany women in our target communities face discrimination and prejudice. They are frequently the victims of abuse, and their lives often revolve almost exclusively around their homes and families.

The Women's Empowerment project is designed to increase self-esteem and confidence, encourage social interaction, and provide women with skills to improve earning potential and the ability to support their families.

Programmes include:

For a number of years, Deep Griha has offered skills training to women in its target communities. These courses provide women with vocational skills, which they can use to generate an independent income.

Currently running are tailoring classes at our Ramtekdi centre and in Nasrapur village.

Our projects empower women, but also seek to provide support for men, through adult education classes and couples' counselling. Deep Griha responds to the needs and demands of the women, and alters its programmes accordingly.
