Volunteer with Us
Deep Griha Society is enthusiastic to work with local and international volunteers who are willing to give their time and expertise to help us make progress and continue with our work in the local community. Volunteering provides you with a great experience of helping the underprivileged, meeting people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds and gaining hands-on experience of development and empowerment at a grassroots level.
Volunteers are here to support staff and not replace them. Where possible we hope that volunteers can impart knowledge and improve the skills of our staff members and local community. The work you do will depend very much on your own skills and interests, on the projects running at the time and where DGS most needs help.
Previous volunteers have got involved with fundraising; teaching personal developnent and life skills; event management; assisting with education in the creches and at Deep Griha Academy as well as bringing new concepts and ideas to existing programmes (such as drama classes at Ramtekdi).
We are delighted to welcome people of all backgrounds and skill types particularly those with the drive and dedication to contribute in some way to the life changing work we do. Whilst we are flexible to accommodate individual circumstances we request that you are able to give your time for a minimum of 2 months to ensure sustainable impact on our projects and individuals involved.
We have some case studies of past volunteer experiences below, follow the links to read their stories.
