What the Lokmat Times Coverage Says

According to the article, the Growing Museum project — held on 14 October 2025 — is centered around a deceptively simple theme: grass. What began with creative workshops involving 32 children transformed into a vibrant, living community museum.

Visual artists worked closely with the children, using their drawings, writings, and observations as inspiration to create immersive, touch-friendly installations that spark wonder, curiosity, and imagination.

Artists, Books, and Film

The report highlights contributions from several talented artists: Archana Bhat, Sawani Puranik, Prajkta P, Deepti Devendra, Tarannum Caur, and Ashwin Afraad.

In addition to installations, the event celebrated the launch of three Growing Museum books, each inspired by grass:

  • Before It Fades by Prajkta P — a coloring book capturing delicate textures.
  • गवत बिवत घरटं बिरटं by Archana Bhat & Sawani Puranik — a playful Marathi narrative grounded in children’s experiences of grass.
  • गवता गवता तू नक्की आहेस तरी काय by Sonali Navangul — a thoughtful, reflective exploration of grass as a being.

The event also included a screening of the short film “Tinka”, directed by Ashwin Afraad and written by Anagha Kusum, based on the children’s imaginative expressions.

Why This Feature Matters

The Lokmat Times article underscores how Deep Griha Academy is pushing the boundaries of education — not just through textbooks but via experiential, community-centered learning. The school’s Director, Ms. Ashlesha Onawale, is quoted emphasising the project’s alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.

This recognition is meaningful for Deep Griha Society because it highlights our ongoing effort to make education deeply relevant, creative, and rooted in the lived experiences of our students and their environment.
