Deep Griha Society was delighted to host a meaningful employee engagement activity with Henkel at the City of Children (COC), Kasurdi campus. A total of 64 enthusiastic volunteers came together to contribute their time and energy towards improving the campus environment and creating vibrant spaces for children.
The activity was designed to support the long-term sustainability of the campus while enhancing the learning and recreational spaces available to children. Following an orientation session, volunteers divided into three groups and simultaneously undertook tree plantation, Warli wall painting, and landscaping activities.
The plantation team worked diligently to plant over 700 saplings and vegetable plants across the campus. Volunteers prepared planting pits, placed saplings, filled and secured the soil, and ensured each plant received adequate watering. This initiative will contribute to a greener campus and support environmental sustainability efforts.
Another group transformed campus walls through beautiful Warli-inspired artwork, adding colour, creativity, and cultural expression to children’s surroundings. The murals have helped create a more engaging and welcoming environment for the children who call the campus home.
Meanwhile, the landscaping team focused on improving outdoor spaces by painting play equipment, installing protective netting around play areas, and supporting additional plantation efforts. These enhancements have made the recreational spaces safer, brighter, and more enjoyable for children.
The day began with a shared lunch and orientation before volunteers dedicated the afternoon to service activities. The event concluded with a group photograph, capturing the collective spirit of teamwork and community engagement.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Henkel and all 64 volunteers for their valuable contribution. Their efforts have left a lasting impact on the City of Children campus, helping create a greener, more beautiful, and child-friendly environment for the children we serve.
