On 12 April 2026, the City of Child (CoC) campus at Kasurdi was filled with familiar faces, conversations, and happy memories. Nineteen alumni came together with 52 hostel children and 6 staff members for the CoC Alumni Meet.
Journeys Beyond CoC
The alumni shared stories from their lives after CoC: what they have been doing, the challenges they faced, and the milestones they have reached. Among them were:
- Prakash Tekudve, who recently started working as an HR professional with a multinational company.
- Akshay Nale, now working as a mechanical technician after completing his ITI.
- Laxman Varma, pursuing Economics while exploring his interests in cinematography, animation, and communication.
Their different paths showed the hostel children how many directions a future can take.
Giving Back to the Hostel
The alumni also gave back to the hostel by contributing meals, snacks, and useful items, including a megaphone for daily activities. More importantly, they spent time with the children, shared their experiences, and encouraged them to believe in themselves and their dreams.
A Hostel Alumni Association Is Born
A significant outcome of the gathering was the formation of a formal Hostel Alumni Association. The alumni said they want to stay connected and support future activities and mentoring at CoC.
Memories That Last
It was a day of reconnecting, sharing, and giving back. It was also a reminder that even after leaving CoC, the memories, relationships, and values built there remain a part of the alumni’s lives.
