Picnic Visit to Madhurangan – A Memorable Experience for Our Senior Citizens

On 8th Oct and 9th Oct, 33 grandmothers along with four staff members visited Swarup Seva Sanstha – Madhurangan at Bhoomkar Khatpe Wadi for a two-day picnic filled with joy and warmth.

The group received a warm welcome, and all arrangements were thoughtfully managed to ensure comfort throughout the stay. The first day included garden games, group activities, playing on the swings and slides,  giving the grandmothers a chance to relive their childhood memories or just experience child-like joy for the first time.  The lively activity session was followed by a delicious lunch.

The evening brought a nature walk to a nearby hill, temple prayers, musical chairs, singing, and dance. Sarees were given as a token of love, and the Marathi movie Hirkani was screened, which everyone enjoyed.

The second day began with yoga in serene surroundings, followed by engaging group activities filled with songs and traditional verses. Ice cream at lunch sparked extra delight.

The hospitality and dedication of the organizing team and volunteers created a strong emotional connection. The farewell was heartfelt and tearful, reflecting the deep bond formed over just two days, a feeling akin to leaving one’s maternal home.

The picnic significantly boosted the emotional well-being, and confidence of our senior citizens. It strengthened community bonding, created joyful memories, and reinforced the importance of care, belonging, and togetherness in their lives.

This was not merely an outing, but a meaningful celebration of dignity, happiness, and shared humanity.
