This quarter, Deep Griha Society’s Aadhar Kendra Program continued its commitment to empowering children and youth, working closely with 235 children across our communities. Our focus this quarter was on mental health, stronger family engagement, and reimagining long-term support for young people.

🧠 Mental Health Awareness & Emotional Well-being Workshop

To foster emotional resilience among children, we hosted a workshop open to both Aadhar Kendra participants and community youth.

  • 46 children from the program and 24 from the community joined the session.
  • Children engaged enthusiastically in games, group discussions, and reflective activities.
  • Many shared that the workshop helped them better understand their emotions and encouraged them to express themselves more openly.

This initiative reflects our growing focus on emotional well-being as a core part of child development.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent–Field Worker Meeting

We organised a dedicated meeting to strengthen the support system around each child.
Parents gained:

  • Awareness of their children’s coping strategies, academic progress, and health needs.
  • Understanding of the importance of skill development and timely welfare access.
  • Renewed confidence and stronger communication channels with field workers.

This engagement has motivated parents to actively participate in their children’s holistic growth.

👧👦 Children–Field Worker Meetings

To create an open, supportive space for children, we continued regular dialogue sessions between children and field workers.

  • Children openly discussed challenges related to education, health, and personal development.
  • Peer group interactions built trust, bonding, and a sense of shared responsibility.
  • Participants showed great enthusiasm in planning future activities and setting personal goals.

These meetings continue to serve as an effective platform for early intervention and mentorship.

🔍 Rethinking Our Approach: A New Phase for Aadhar Kendra

A recent impact assessment, along with reflections on safeguarding, has encouraged us to re-evaluate and redesign how we support young people at every stage of growth.

We now have a dedicated team of four experts actively studying the needs of children—from under 5s to young adults up to 24 years old. This deeper understanding will guide us in building stronger, safer, and more impactful interventions in the coming months.
